In April 2010, we found a new supplier for Sock Loopers. 
(as shown on the bottom row in the photo below)
$2.50 per pound for "New" Loopers
(10 lb. minimum order)

Close-Out on "old" Loopers = $1.50 per pound
(10 lbs. minimum order)
A 2 ft. x 3 ft. rug uses about 2 lbs. of Loopers.

    


 We have learned that sock manufacturers do not use the knitting machines any longer that produce
the "fluffy" loopers we originally carried.  The new machines make a smaller,
less "fluffy" looper.  You can, however, try looping two together to make
a thicker looper (as shown in the photo).

Some even sadder news....
(We were told that even these smaller loopers will eventually be a thing of the past.
There is new technology out there that does away with the "loopers" altogether.
The machines are rather expensive, but sooner or later all sock manufacturers will be using them.)
