Austin as a first-time floor loom weaver, warped her Baby Wolf loom for 4 placemats. Warp was natural cotton and the weft was a natural brown cotton chenille with a few added accents of a variegated, hand-dyed cotton slub/flake in gold tones.
All 4 came out identical...just as she planned. Nice work, Austin!
Crystal warped her floor loom with R&M's Natural Cotton Slub with a few "Admiral Blue" stripes for accent for 3 towels.
Her weft was the same Cotton Slub in natural as well as the "Admiral Blue" for two towels and ventured out and included some "Lime Green" dyed cotton slub in the 3rd towel. What a lovely addition!
Nice work, Crystal!
PS: Cotton Slub in Natural and 8 colors are offered at R&M Yarns under "Regular Stocked" yarns.
Reid has been blessing us with his presence in 3-day workshops for 8 summers now and we love him!
Reid decided to warp his loom with assorted colors of 3/2 mercerized cotton to weave 3 different throw rugs. One was woven with a thick wool; one with a thick mop cotton; and the last one with a little of this and that! That's the fun thing about Reid...one never knows what he will end up with. I don't think he often knows either! LOL
Juliann decided to weave a couple of throw rugs. She warped with an 8/4 natural and black cotton and wove with a thick, natural cotton chenille with assorted black accents.
Beautiful rugs! She had fun creating different looks for each rug. Nice!
Haley decided to weave 3 cotton slub towels with brown accents.
They turned out beautiful! Nice work!
These are just of the loom; not wet-finished yet.
This was Megan's first experience weaving on a floor loom.
She wove three Cotton Slub towels. Warp: Cotton Slub in Natural and Daffodil Yellow; sett was 10 epi. Weft: same as warp with additional hand-dyed, variegated cotton slub in orange/green/red/gold. Hems were woven with 8/2 natural cotton.
Nice work, Megan!

This was Betty's second weaving workshop at the R&M Yarns Studio.
She wove a rug for under her piano bench. The warp was 2 shades of blue rug wool and the weft was a 4-ply heavy, natural wool. Pattern was tabby and sett @ 8 epi. She used a ski shuttle for the weft.
Nice work, Betty!
PS: she learned that a dark warp is hard to see when sleying the reed and threading the heddles. Thus the "design elements" you see in the rug that make it even more special!
Karyn wove these cotton check towels as her very first weaving project in a 3-day weaving workshop. She used R&M's Cotton Slub in Admiral Blue and Daffodil Yellow, sett at 10 epi.
She wanted to match her French-themed placemats--I think she did a great job!
Cotton Slub Colors; also available in natural, undyed.
Brown Sheep Nature Spun "China Blue" and "Gray Heather" Wool woven in Houndstooth Pattern on 4 Shaft Floor Loom during a 2021 Weaving Class. One cone each of Blue and Gray used for warp & weft (with some left over); 4 yards; 8 epi and about 22" in the reed.
Purse is "fulled" from left-over warp on loom.
Thank you for sharing, Betty. Beautiful and just in time for Winter!
